As well as using alternative sanitizers it is also necessary to keep a close eye on other levels to control algae and bacteria. Some of these tests would include checking phosphates, nitrates, and ammonia.

Salt generation system: This will allow you to produce chlorine from salt with electrolysis. New units have ORP and PH samplers which will keep your levels exactly where they should be unlike older systems where you need to increase or decrease the amount of input.  We keep a level of .5 ppm when used in conjunction with other sanitizing systems.

  Zeolite filter media: Zeolite is filter media that can filter particle's as small as 3-5 microns. Sand filter generally can filter as low as 20 microns, cartridge as small as 10 to 15 microns and DE 3 to 5 microns. This filter will run a lower pressure then other filtration due to the micro porous structure that allows water to flow through out the granules. This equates to lower electric consumption. This is the only filter media that will also trap ammonia which cause chloromines.
